Local Information
The nearest big towns are Narbonne and Perpignan, about an hour and forty-five minutes drive respectively. The historic cities of Carcassonne and Toulouse can be reached by car or rail. The region also has out-of-town hypermarkets, complete with onsite boutiques, specialist shops, restaurants and bars. Carrefour is the nearest at 35 minutes by car.
The nearest international airport is Perpignan, about 25 minutes drive. Other airports serving the area are Carcassonne, (about 1h 30m), Toulouse, (about 2 hours), Barcelona (under 3 hours), and Gerona (about 1h 30m).
Internal Air Inter flights are popular from Paris, as is the TGV. The Barcelona bus from London Victoria stops off at Perpgnan Railway Station. There is a bus service to Narbonne and Perpignan, and a taxi service based in Tuchan itself. The local road network is good and roads are generally well maintained.
